short answer NO.
Blackberry controls the thruput of the devices and you have to have access to the RIM servers to get data to go thru them.
I am sure there might be some hacks that allow some data usage but most times when you put a SIM in a blackberry you get voice and text only. nothing else.
Even wifi is being controlled by service provider. I m on Airtel bb 599 plan but I can't access wifi. Earlier, I was on 899 plan and I was enjoying wifi. Very sad to know about it. Probably this is the only set which restrict wifi usage.
