I downloaded it this morning and already performed my first back up.
installed on my torch and first backup was done in background without letting me know. Great application for users. Now free from loosing of data or transferring data from one to another.
On the website you can remote lock, remote wipe, initiate a loud ring on your phone, view gps location and display a message on the home screen.

I have a 9700. When I go to Connections and turn WiFi off, it automatically turns back on a few seconds later. This happens even if I turn off my homes WiFi router. I believe this happens because of other WiFi setups near by that my phone is sensing.
My wife got rid of her BlackBerry curve on Saturday, she's gone to the Dark Side and purchased an iPhone. We used to add appointments to each other's calendar by "inviting zttendee". Is there anyway we can do that between the BB and iPhone platforms?
the answer from my friend is yes. we can do this via Google Calendar :)
Unfortunately, yahoo doesn't provide cloud syncing that I know of to IOS devices, so there's probably no app. If she has iCal on her mac, you can make it sync to google, for free if she's willing to set up an account. The other option is for you to disable google syncing and then just usb to her mac running BB desktop. You need to have os5 on your device though for that. much easier though is just have her set up a google account.
PIN2 code is a GSM feature and lumped in with your PIN and PUK codes see http://www.gsm-security.net/faq/gsm-pin-pin2-puk-puk-personal- identity-number-personal-unblocking-key.shtml Usually (in the UK at least) you are given the PIN code so you can lock access to the SIM but the PIN2 code is rarely used by most users.
PUK is to unlock access to the SIM if you have entered the PIN incorrectly 3 times and blocked SIM access. The carrier should give you this number which is random and unique to every SIM.
Blackberry controls the thruput of the devices and you have to have access to the RIM servers to get data to go thru them.
I am sure there might be some hacks that allow some data usage but most times when you put a SIM in a blackberry you get voice and text only. nothing else.
Even wifi is being controlled by service provider. I m on Airtel bb 599 plan but I can't access wifi. Earlier, I was on 899 plan and I was enjoying wifi. Very sad to know about it. Probably this is the only set which restrict wifi usage.

Basic checkbook register. Attractive screens. Password protected on startup. Any number of accounts (bank, savings, CC, etc.) Running balances, transaction lists, email summaries to yourself, and manual/auto transfers between accounts.
Some like it instead of remembering to enter things in their paper checkbook register. I'm one of them. Now I have to remember to enter them digitally -- some things never change! May require reconciling and deleting older info periodically, since all data lives in core memory.
I loved using Splash Money years ago when on Palm but had a horrible experience using it on blackberry and finally gave up on managing my finances at the smartphone level. Hopefully there is a solution for playbook, if not at least Quicken online should be available.
There is an app or program that I can download that will allow me to use Skype on my Sprint BlackbErry. I used to use iSkoot, but that no longer works.
i mean Skype just for Chatting and then i try Nimbuzz in www.nimbuzz.com. Hope it helps. :)

While a lot has been written about the Playbook there seems to be too much speculation and not enough fact. I guess RIM didn't want to tip its hand to the competition but when you ask somebody to invest $400 - $700 I would think they would want the consumer to be well informed.
Fair enough, I have my concerns as well and if I have to return it, I will. The one thing I was really hoping for was an sd card reader for easily viewing pix from your digital camera but everything I'm reading says no, it won't have one.
I upgraded my software yesterday and I do not like the fact that I can't copy and paste text from emails any more.
Also the layout of the home screen isn't as easy to navigate. And I can't add UberSocial to my "social feeds".
This may seem like a minor inconvenience but I seem to have lost the use of QSMS, the software that makes the letter Q a hot key for texting. I text a lot and now have added steps to that.
The Beta version of Docs2Go v.3.0.0.21 has been leaked online! If you wanna be adventurous and install this, you will need to remove the current version of Docs2Go from your phone BEFORE you install the leaked one, otherwise it’ll just install it and leave the other version, and that probably won’t be good.

I'm wondering if perhaps my "BB Desktop" software needs updating first? If I remember correctly, the one on the netbook is version 4.5... I did check @ BB, I think the current Desktop is a 114MB download, so will need to head into town for wifi to do that. I connect via tether back here in the mountains.
I downloaded update to version 6.x yesterday before changing my blackberry over, but that's in the UK.
If it gives u an update option and you can, I'd update and try again
